Kay's Story

As a recovered people pleaser and over-thinker, I once feared that my life was destined for obesity, depression, damaged relationships, anxiety, and failure. Life was exhausting from never feeling “good enough,” so I would secretly turn toward alcohol, emotional outbursts, cutting, highly controlled eating as well as isolation, although you probably couldn't tell it from my resume.

Life only grew harder as I grew older and I was a quirky, vibrant professional who lost all joy in my ambitions.

 

​

I contemplated suicide which felt like an “escape,” free from the struggle and stress. After a dark road and a couple close calls, I knew something needed to change... a lot of "somethings."

​

​

I began my own rebellious journey-- rebelling against toxic people and relationships to cultivate healthy ones, negative thought patterns, medication to "fix" me, dysfunctional habits that kept me repeating the same damaging loops.

 

​

Now, I am a Holistic Wellness Coach (and licensed professional counselor) because of what I learned to be effective through my journey to wholeness. I share this with hope that you will see how sometimes our greatest shame becomes our greatest gains.

 

​

With the unique, Rebellious Wellness Society (available now) as well as Rebellious Wellness Society Leadership (coming soon), you can grow within a safe, healthy community as you progress through various stages of wellness without needing to search for multiple service providers or programs.

Through the variety of experiences,

my passion for helping others has continued to grow since childhood.

My love started with caring for and raising animals, then as a youth I began to mentor those younger than me. As a young adult, seeking opportunities to challenge myself and give back to the world, I travelled to 11 countries over 11 months with an organization doing humanitarian work. 

 

I moved closer to my dream for my life by teaching as a High School English Teacher, but after my mental health crisis, I knew my heart was made for counseling and coaching others to wellness.

 

My goal is to inspire a healthy outlook and help you find a simplified, uncluttered way of living to fully enjoy the benefits of what life has to offer.

Why Holistic Wellness?

The journey to recovery and holistic wellness is a process.

 

What is Holistic Wellness? 

Holistic encompasses mind, body and spirit.

Wellness considers various aspects of mental, physical and emotional well-being. 

 

Why use this approach?

You may be dealing with a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, addiction, mood swings, apathy or other negative ways of dealing with life when you suddenly realize you need to take drastic action before life gets worse. 

 

To think we only need talk therapy or we only need tips and tricks to "fix it" does not address the whole person or the variety of components we may be missing.

 

This process helps us discover what areas may need attention for a more "whole" you. 

 

It does not have to be complicated, but it does take time to simplify our lives.

 

You may feel you require all 6 courses of the Holistic Wellness Academy or you may feel you only need one or two courses for your healing process.

 

Whatever your needs, we will work through it together.
